My wife and my son have been wanting to bring me here for a while. Today was the day. We went there for lunch, found a parking spot right in front. Restaurant looks clean, The friendly staff told us to sit anywhere we'd like. The menu is posted on the walls for convenience it makes it easy to pick what you want or you can ask for a menu if you'd prefer. They gave some complimentary hot barley tea and since we read the menu on the wall we were able to order right away. We ordered a couple of Asahi beers and they gave us some Edamame to snack with our beers. The food was served quickly, I had the 3 item bento box Chicken Teriyaki, California Roll, and mixed Tempura, it was delicious and nice portions ,the Wife had 2 item bento beef teriyaki and mixed tempura she loved it, my son had 2 item bento box Chicken teriyaki with California roll he was satisfied. I almost forgot we got Miso soup before the meal good and hot. We're coming back again.
Great food and service! Love this local Japanese restaurant. Feels very authentic. The curry katsu was huge and delicious and their chirashi bowl was excellent.
Been going to this place over 30 plus years , pretty much the same, simple , reasonable price, quick and easy . You can never be disappointed .
Akagi was much better than I anticipated. There food and portions are reasonably priced for this intimate/hole hole in the wall restaurant.
I was impressed by the number of options that their had for their combination dinners. I had the teriyaki saba (mackerel) and tempura. I enjoyed my meal, but my only complaint is that the temperature of the food wasn't very hot. (Like it had been sitting around for too long.) The miso soup had good flavor, but it was kind of sad with one small piece of wakame (seaweed), a few green onions, and no tofu.
Service wasn't that great, but I wasn't expecting it to be either.

Fresh and translucent in quality
Compared to its price I would say they have the quality sushi prepared
by Nobu san. It is almost impossible you get to enjoy the nigiri at less than $15.
Quality at the reasonable cost.
I recommend strongly!
